From the owner of Soupbox in the restaurant's former space comes Avé Pasta, 50 E. Chicago Ave.. This gourmet pasta spot grabs it's inspiration from to-go psta from Venice, Italy. Itspecializes in all things pasta-related. The process is simple--choose your pasta, sauce and additions like proteins and veggies. All meals are servied in contemporary to-go containers to be eaten on-the-go or carried out easily. Owner Jamie Taerbaum started Icebox in 1995 in Lakeview making 20+ flavors of Italian ices. When the Chicago winter hit, he converted the restaurant into Soupbox, making homemade soups. Soupbox's second location recently converted into Avé Pasta. The philosophy is still the same: "eat. smile. be happy."
